"I was looking for someone to cater a party at home. I initially planned a hog- or lamb-roast, but then some friends waxed lyrical about Cardona & Son whose food they had tasted at a country fair in Cambridge.
I set far more store by personal recommends than so-called independent websites, furthermore, I had the opportunity to sample the food myself when these same friends had Cardona & Son in to cater for their own party.
I was slightly concerned about how they would manage to get all their kit into my suburban garden via a 1 metre wide access – somewhat different to an open field, but Andre Cardona was good enough to make a site visit and declared it not to be a problem – they have different serving facilities depending on the venue.
The food was excellent – choices were brisket, pork or veggie for 60 people. (You specify to them the proportions of each). Their technique is to prep and smoke it offsite before the event. It’s all brought in on the day and served up in brioche buns with coleslaw and various sauces. Of course, loads of people went up for seconds – and thirds.
The best part is the leftovers now in my freezer, slowly being whittled away.

"The Cardonas catered for our Barn Dance for 200 people with a fantastic slow-cooked barbecue. nothing was too much trouble and the event went without a hitch. The meat was truly amazing and our guests couldn't get enough of it, though the quantities were so generous that no-one went hungry.
